History of the Concession

The Olmos Irrigation Project Concession has been awarded based on the following:

• On June 25, 2008, the Olmos Irrigation Consortium submitted a Private Initiative to the Lambayeque Regional Government consisting in the development of an irrigation and water usage project in unproductive land owned by the Regional Government in the Lambayeque Region.

 

• Through the Regional Council Agreement No.127-2009-CEPRI-GR.LAMB/CR dated August 12, 2009, and failing other interested parties to appear within the law-mandated term, the Lambayeque Department Regional Government approved the direct award of the ‘Olmos Irrigation Project’ to the Olmos Irrigation Consortium.

 

• Through Notice N°  60/2009/CPC/PROINVERSIÓN, dated October 19, 2009, the Lambayeque Regional Government Special Private Investment Promotion Committee (CEPRI-Lambayeque) requested the approval by the Finance and Economy Ministry of the Final Version of the ‘Olmos Irrigation Project’ Private Initiative Concession Agreement.

 

• The National Water Authority (ANA) issued a favorable opinion, in accordance with a new Law Regulation dated November 16, 2009.

 

• The Finance and Economy Ministry approved the Amendments to the Final Version of the Concession Agreement for the design, financing, construction, operation and maintenance of the Olmos Project Distribution Works --‘Olmos Irrigation Project’—on May 10, 2010.

 

• Under Regional agreement No. 073-2010-GR.LAMB./CR, dated May 20, 2010, the Lambayeque Regional Government Special Private Investment Promotion Committee approved the final version of the Concession Agreement for the Design, Financing, Construction, Operation and Maintenance of the Olmos Project Distribution Works.

 

• On May 25, 2010, the Lambayeque Regional Government Special Private Investment Promotion Committee forwarded the final version of the Concession Agreement to the Republic General Controller Office for approval prior to the execution of the Concession Agreement.

 

• The Concession Agreement for the Design, Financing, Construction, Operation and Maintenance of the Olmos Irrigation Project was executed on June 11, 2010.

 

• Trough Official Letter N º 148-2011-GR.LAMB./PR dated January 24th, 2011, the Regional Government of Lambayeque (the "GRL") approved the “Rules of Bidding Procedure for the Public Auction of the lands of the Olmos Irrigation Project".
