H2Olmos - Regional Infrastructure

The Olmos Irrigation Project is located in the Peruvian Northern Economic Corridor, a multimodal corridor seeking development and integration of the country's Amazonia, mountain areas and the northern coast with foreign markets.

The following infrastructure works within the framework of this development plan will positively impact the Olmos Project:

IIRSA North Highway: Involves the construction, restoration and improvement, as well as operation and maintenance over all 955 km of the road communicating the Paita seaport with the Yurimaguas river port, across the Piura, Lambayeque, Cajamarca, Amazonia, San Martin and Loreto regions.

This road, with works started in April 2006, enables the interconnection of the Peruvian northern coast, mountain area and jungle with Brazil benefitting all involved locations with more than 3 million inhabitants.

The IIRSA Norte Concessionaire shareholders are Odebrecht, with 83% interest, and Graña y Montero with the remaining 17%.
