Benefits of the Olmos irrigation project

  1. Addition to national agriculture of 38,000 hectares of New Land and 5,500 hectares of Valle Viejo and ‘Santo Domingo Olmos’ Rural Community.
  2. Potential generation of 40,000 jobs until project maturity.
  3. Lambayeque will become the agribusiness development center of the northern area of the country. Favorable weather, soil and water conditions, coupled with the competitive advantage of our ‘non traditional’ crops, will allow benefiting from global opportunities and trends.
  4. Project implementation will allow consolidating the foundations of Lambayeque development not only in agribusiness but also in other economic activities, including commerce, industry, transport, education, housing and tourism, thus transforming the region’s production bases.
