The Olmos Project involves the diversion of the Atlantic-basin Huancabamba river waters to the Pacific basin across the Andean mountain range for the irrigation of 43,500 hectares of land with great farming potential.
An extension of 38,000 hectares of new land, owned by the Lambayeque Regional Government, will be transferred through a public auction. Successful bidders will be able to acquire the lots, which shall be supplied with water through hydraulic infrastructure, power and access to the national road network.
